Walls, Floors, Ceilings, and Doors

When we left off, 25+ boards received their last coats of stain. Much has happened since then.

Let’s start with those boards. They are now an awesome feature wall.

To this!

My hat’s off to Don Vanderpool, who designed this wall to be gorgeous and cost-effective. It uses standard lumber pieces arranged in a very creative way. Wait ‘til you see it in person.

On other fronts, the floor is now 95% installed and it looks awesome.

The barn doors are stained and the office doors received a nice coat of paint courtesy of our DIY divo, T. Fay.

We also have a kitchen area ready for Travis’ endless supply of coffee. (The fridge comes this week.)

So, do you remember those colorful grills I showed you earlier? They were left over from the previous tenant. With a little paint and imagination, they are now part of our ceiling design:

Upcyclin’, baby!

As you can see, much has been accomplished, yet more remains. In my next blog entry, I’ll show you the making of the coolest room divider ever…
