Tomorrow, Worldwide Headquarters opens for business. The eagle has landed. . It’s even better in person. This project is the culmination of 8 months of work and a heck of a lot of materials samples. 

In just a few short days, we’ll be moving into Worldwide Headquarters. For the most part, construction will be complete. There are a few fixes and additions here and there, but nothing major. Hallelujah!

From design to completion, things often change along the way due to physical limitations, permit requirements, costs, or newfound space requirements. This has undoubtedly been the case in this office design project.

When we left off, 25+ boards received their last coats of stain. Much has happened since then. Let’s start with those boards. They are now an awesome feature wall.

Sure my husband went to Stanford… twice… and sure he has 25+ patents to his name, but apparently his true calling is lumber staining. Who knew? Pictures tell the story best.

Things are really humming this week at Worldwide Headquarters. For starters, the ceiling has been painted.

Drywall is complete! As we wait for the moisture to dissipate so that painting can begin, work continues on the conference room barn doors and framing for the interior glass.

Things are humming along at Worldwide Headquarters. We passed all “rough in” inspections and drywalling is underway, scheduled for completion Monday.

Good news! After 7+ days of work stoppage and much needless haggling with the city, we finally got our electrical permit. Gotta love those tax dollars at work.

This past week marks the conclusion of the “rough in” work for our new office.This means, all the framing, rough wiring, rough ducting and rough plumbing is complete.

A quick update on the progress of our new home… Demolition started last week with tons of removal to do.

It took 5-½ months to find our next Worldwide Headquarters, a process that was needlessly exhausting to say the least. This is because the way office space is leased and shown is stuck in the 20th century.
